Will this get us any closer to medical marijuana? I’m sure plenty of people are quite excited about Gov. Chris Christie’s announcement today regarding NJ’s decision to move forward with dispensing marijuana nearly two years after the fact.
He gave this half ass’d reason as to why he was hesitant about allowing the legalized herb to be available to the public.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he will allow the state to begin dispensing medical marijuana despite his concerns over whether federal authorities could prosecute state regulators.
I don’t buy the story about his concern over Federal prosecution because the DEA has been going ape shit since their recent memo stating that they will step up efforts to pursue and prosecute state sanctioned dispensaries. But prior to that the DEA publicly stated that they would refrain from prosecuting state approved dispensaries. Consider the following information:
On his last day as Governor former Govt. Corzine signed a bill allowing medical marijuana in the state of New Jersey. (January 18, 2010).
It was during February of 2009 that Attorney General Eric Holder made the statement that the DEA would no longer pursue state approved marijuana dispensaries.
There’s a span of a year in which Governor Christie and the the New Jersey state legislators could have began making preparations to dispense marijuana if they cared to do so.
I’m not falling for this one. Elected officials do nothing more than give lip service. It’s up to people like you to call their bluff. I say New Jersey won’t get medical marijuana until the big pharma companies of New Jersey are involved in the pay out and they will be…
Either way, it’ll cost you $200 for a NJ registration card. Good luck with qualifying for marijuana treatment though, unlike other states, New Jersey has an inclusive list of medical problems in which doctors can prescribe marijuana therapy. If your illness isn’t on this list then too bad for you.
Oh, yeah. The law requires for you to have taken every available therapy and to have had it fail to improve your health before you can be approved for NJ MM. Imagine how fucked up you’ll be by the side effects of those OTHER drugs before you even get to the Mary Jane.
Yeah, sucks for you.
I guess you’ll continue to keep the weed man in Netflix and Air Force Ones money or else move to California. Which ever is cheaper, right?
