The phone has been ringing all week and although I promised to be out and about it hasn’t worked out like I thought it would.
I’ve been working, collecting new clients, meeting with my colleagues and writing on the blogs that I contribute to. I went MIA for about two weeks and the reason was so that I could once and for all sit down, read, edit and update my books manuscript so I could finally submit it to the publishers for review.
So now you know where I been. I always think I’m alone over here working unnoticed until I am reminded by the people that care about me that they have an eye on me whether I realize it or not.
My phone rang recently and it was my good friend, and old original partner @Mr. ABEverywhere who is now the CEO of Media Hunter PR.
For those who don’t know the history, he and I met up at a Twitter Meet and Greet held by BigCed.
We met, clicked, became tight as cornrows and here we are.
We worked great together and as friends and as business partners we have a natural complimenting chemistry.
Our radio show, The Soap Box Chronicles was popular, and funny. Everything was great until he decided to take a break and re-evaluate the direction things were going in.
I had to respect him, it was then that he told me about how he wanted to step behind the scenes and become a promoter. He wanted to continue doing what he cultivated while off at college at HBCU. He was great in front of the camera, but that’s not what he’s looking for.
Anthony likes to make other people shine. I was the one that loves working behind the scenes but I also realize as a poet and performance artist, I needed to be front and center.
And so we went our separate ways and I’m loving the fact that he’s come into his own and I’m loving the fact that he’s kept an eye on me all this time. I’ve kept my eye on him the entire time, I knew what his website looked like, when he had new pictures circulating, I noted when and how often his company’s name began to appear in my time line and though people may have forgotten about us as a team.
We never did.
So tonight I will be in Manhattan at the Katra Lounge at the video premier of Shamar Forte’s new song “Something From a Dream” hosted by Media Hunter PR celebrating with the good people of the City of New York.
Keep an eye out for me tonight as I’ll be wearing a custom piece of jewelry by the artist @deemakesjewelry while on hand snapping pictures and taking part in some celebrating.
My people’s are doing good and it’s not SOMETHING FROM A DREAM………………..this is life!
